Shannon SchmidtShannon Wimp Schmidt is the Content Director for the TENx10 Collaboration, co-host of the Plaid Skirts and Basic Black podcast, and award-winning author for Ave Maria Press. A proud wife and mother, Shannon holds a bachelor’s degree in Theology from the University of Notre Dame and a Masters Degree in Pastoral Studies from Catholic Theological Union. She also serves on the Board of Catholics United for Black Lives, a not-for-profit working for racial justice. You can find her on social media @teamquarterblack.

Marcia Lane-McGee

Marcia Lane-McGee is the cohost of the Plaid Skirts and Basic Black podcast and a family teacher at Mooseheart Child City and School. She is a founding member, executive board member, and secretary of Catholics United for Black Lives and an executive board member and the vice president of New Wave Feminists.
Lane-McGee attended Benedictine University, where she studied English language and literature and minored in Spanish. She earned a national certification in Catholic youth ministry from the Center for Ministry Development and was certified in diversity, equity, and inclusion in the workplace from the University of South Florida MUMA College of Businesses. Lane-McGee previously served as coordinator of youth ministry for the Diocese of Joliet and the Archdiocese of Indianapolis, and as a community resource coordinator for Youth Guidance. She has been a guest on CatholicTV’s This is the Day and SiriusXM’s The Katie McGrady Show.
She lives in the Chicago, Illinois, area.

Fr. Raj Derivera
Father Raj Derivera is a priest of the Diocese of Sacramento currently assigned as the Pastor of Sacred Heart Parish in Anderson, Ca. Father Raj completed his graduate studies at St. Patrick’s Seminary and University in Menlo Park, California in 2016, with a Master of Divinity and an STB in Theology, and he completed his undergraduate studies in Philosophy and Literature at Mt. Angel Seminary and University in St. Benedict, Oregon in 2011. His Master's Thesis is on Beauty and Evangelization and his Bachelor's Capstone was on Film and Evangelization. His favorite saints are St. Therese of the Child Jesus, Pope St. John Paul II, St. Peter, and the Holy Martyrs of every generation. He is passionate about all the feasts that the Church celebrates, because they often involve three of his favorite things: the Liturgy, parties, and food.

SkaAmen
SkaAmen is a Catholic ska band that uses ska rhythms in their music, combining elements of traditional Caribbean rhythms and jazz. They released their first album, "Contracorriente," in 2014 and have a mission to glorify God through music. They have members from the Diocese of Stockton, Oakland, and San Jose. The band changed their name from "Amen" to "SkaAmen" to reflect their musical style and their commitment to serving God through music.

Joe Melendrez has forged a unique path to becoming one of America’s most exciting Catholic performers. His journey began at age fifteen when he appeared on MTV, sparking a passion for performance. It was during a Teen A.C.T.S. Retreat later that year where Joe experienced a profound encounter with God’s love,
inspiring him to commit his life to spreading the Good News.
Joe shares the Gospel in many unique ways, including founding a
faith-based clothing line, God Swagg Apparel, and releasing five major Catholic hip-hop albums. Notably, he creatively uses opportunities like winning a year of free Chipotle burritos as a means to evangelize with each meal.
Equipped with a BA in Religious Studies from the University of Dayton, Joe has served as a Religion Teacher and Youth Minister for over a decade. In addition to his work in Catholic education, his dynamic ministry extends globally, from electrifying audiences across Europe, Africa, Australia, South America, and the USA, to captivating crowds at major youth rallies, conferences, and
national events. Today, Joe Melendrez thrives as a devoted husband and father, natural MC, dynamic musical performer,
inspirational speaker, and expert retreat leader.
